My 2011 Booklist

So it's that time of year again. Time to create another list (I LOVE lists!)... time to weigh my options, to pick and choose... time to write and rewrite, scratch and add... time to actually complete a list for a change (it really is a novel concept :).

So this year, I'm making my list a little shorter. I still have a handful of titles from both '09 and '10 that I have yet to read, so they'll naturally flow over in to this one (though I won't bother to list them here). That being said... if anyone has a favorite to recommend... please, please, please pass it along! My reading time is very limited (anyone else feel that way?!), so I don't want to waste a single second of it on less-than-stellar titles. And thanks!

Great list! Now I need to add a few more to mine. I love Jan Karon and Francine Rivers! I read the Kite Runner last year. I'll warn you it's a little hard to swallow at times. My favorite read from last year is Scared by Tom Davis. Also a little hard to swallow by oh-so-good!

Blessings!
Deborah

Oh thank you Heather. I love it when the people I admire share their book lists. I'm going to print this out.
I'm right in the middle of the Mitford series (for about the third time). I absolutely love them!

I love your book lists! Several of those are on mine too -- Organized Simplicity and Bringing Up Girls. I read Kite Runner and I agree with Deborah that it was 'a little hard to swallow', but not every good story is pretty. I would recommend it. I'm reading John Eldredge's Waking the Dead currently and LOVE it--worth every minute of my time. Love Francis Chan's stuff. I just found out from a friend that he has a couple children's books too!

I bought "1,000 Gifts" and "Organized Simplicity" in the Kindle editions and can loan them to you via the app for Mac. They are both well worth reading. Hope you all are well. We are still digging out of the snow.

I also have "Forgotten God" and Sacred Parenting" in paper copies and you're welcome to borrow them. Our friend's parents are members of David Platt's church, so "Radical" has been on my listtoo.
