1000 Gifts: The little things

"Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms."
Psalm 95:2

0049
The Creator's creativity and the beauty of His design

0050
changing seasons, cooler temperatures, open windows, gentle breezes

0051
the soothing sound of raindrops falling right outside my window

0052
a simple game of hide and seek... and the joy of being found

0053
schoolwork taken outside... no shirts or shoes required :)

0054
old friends, new friends... friends

0055
itty-bitty fingers and the places they explore

0056
a sleeping baby and a tummy feeling well once more

0057
our church service via the internet as I stayed home to mend

0058
his love of markers and the determination required to use every single one before his project is complete

0059
a phone call from a special friend, just to say hello

0060
"Oh, Mom! Don't stop there. Just one more chapter... pleeeeaaaase!"

0061
an "I love you, Mommy," completely out of the blue

0062
an offer to help, a gentle word spoken, a strong-boy hug, a tender smile

0063
warm blankets, clean dishes, fuzzy socks, favorite shirts
winter coats, brand new sneakers, market produce, time together

0064
a kind word from a stranger and the opportunity to pay it forward

0065
Four tiny babes who flegded from this home
the endless care of a mother, fully committed to raising her young
and this perfect nest, carefully built by one as she fulfilled her God-given role~

Heather, what a beautiful and joyful list. I LOVE your website. It is serene, simple and beautiful, even elegant. I look forward to visiting your little corner of the world again.

I spent some of my childhood in NOVA... Vienna (back when the metro didn't go out that far!) and Arlington.

Many blessings to you...

~ Sharaya

The lists, this one especially, just bring such blessing. For me, with an empty nest these days, so many of the things you write about bring back so many special memories. It is so wise to treasure these moments.
