1000 gifts: At the beach

A few weeks ago, at the beginning of someone's gratitude list, I read these words,

"The more I look, the more I see."

I wish I could remember who made this observation so that I could giver her proper credit, but unfortunately, I don't.

Still her point is so true.
God's precious gifts abound, and without a doubt,
the more I look, the more I see.

0028
a wonderfully relaxing week at the beach, thanks to the generosity of Gramoggie & Poppa

including:

0029
a lovely home away from home, just on the other side of the dunes

0030
seashell hunts before breakfast

and football after dinner

buried toes, sandy fingers, sun-kissed faces, and salty-soaked pigtails

seagulls to chase, waves to ride, holes to dig, and castles to build

wide open spaces, clear blue skies, an ocean that reaches as far as the eye can see... and the opportunity to cherish it all

0031
koolaid and chips, crossword puzzles and books, a moment to sit and rest... together

0032
laughing, playing, giggling, dancing, hopping... happy children

with time to be silly and time to play

0033
and hours
to savor the ocean... with Gramoggie.... every single day

0034
dump trucks and bulldozers and boats and buckets, skim boards and shovels and scoops and stars... all under the gaze of summer's setting sun

0035
special mommy-daughter moments... like matching hair-dos, thanks to the help and creativity of my darling 7 yo niece

0036
treasures from the sea to take with us when we leave, and others to enjoy for just a moment along the shore (unfortunately, this fella washed up on the beach... expired)

0037
Time... to dig and splash and soak and smile

...to build and jump and surf and.... sleep!

0038
3 generations... all together... celebrating the tail end of summer

Thank you, Father, for your precious, precious gifts...

holy experience

What precious family portraits!
What love there is circling around.
How dear each and every one of these moments is ... and always will be.

You will cherish them forever... and there's so much more to come!
All the best ~ Maria

Oh Heather - what a wonderful list. I love the ocean and anything to do with it. I think it one of the Lord's special gifts to us.
And how lovely that you were all there together. I rejoice with you. Thank you for sharing this special time - and your grateful heart.

Oh Heather, what a heavenly, heavenly time you must have had. The ocean is my favorite place in the whole world. Treasure those moments. Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Some of your pictures would make awesome watercolor pictures. It is a one step project in Microsoft Digital Imaging. Good luck if you try it.
