1000 Gifts: Summer showers

"Earth's crammed with heaven, and every common bush afire with God;
But only he who sees, takes off his shoes,
the rest sit round it and pluck blackberries,
and daub their natural faces unaware."

~Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Oh, Father, don't let me miss the gifts of Your hand, the illustrations of Your love, the work of Your heart.
Please, give me eyes to see!

0672
rain, glorious rain

0673
a quiet house-- children sleeping, darkness surrounding, raindrops falling... gently calling me to rest

0674
and garden life... singing its lovely song once again

0675
puzzles on the dining room table

0676
good books on the sofa

0677
and homemade bread... deliciously divine

0678
hidden treasures

0679
and eyes to see

0680
new life

0681
a tiny hand, tucked gently in mine

0682
and a quiet whisper, "I love you, Mommy..."

0683
little girl delights... like
baby doll carriages, brand new shoes, brightly colored ribbons... and pink!

0684
yes, pink jammies and pink "paint"... how could we ever live without them??!

0685
faraway friends no longer faraway

0686
and an evening with them... plus fireflies and tennis balls, lemonade and ice cream cones, extreme generosity and kind, kind hearts

0687
great friends

0688
and summer!
"Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name."

1 Chronicles 29:13

holy experience

The picture of that fawn is AMAZING - how did you get to take it??? Love the list. At this point in time I'd pay money for some pink and that's saying something knowing me. :) miss you -

The picture of the little fawn is sooo beautiful!
We have wild deer herds nearby too and have also spotted the baby deer like this from time to time.
How cool to get a picture of one!

Homemade bread, rain, a quiet house . . . great gifts as well. Giving thanks with you.

How DID you get that picture of the fawn? That's incredible! I love each of the pictures though -- each and every one is so so precious. We haven't read that one by E.Nesbit yet. I'll have to add it to my ever-growing list.
Blessings and love to you this week, friend!

I think I say this every time Heather, but I don't know any other way to express it. Your lists always make me feel such love and warmth. Your sweet spirit flows out of your words.
Thank you for sharing your heart.

Another great post--uplifting and beautiful! You should see the fawn now, he still has his spots, but is growing. The twins are still on the small side. Hope we get some rain soon. I'll be saving acorns and apples again his fall! Love to all, Mom
